Since Muizenberg is a popular surf town, why not learn to surf on your visit? At Gary’s Surf School visitors can learn the basics of surfing from Gary and the other instructors. Operating since 1989, the school is one of the oldest and best known in the country. Located at ‘Surfer’s Corner’, Gary’s Surf School specializes in teaching both locals and tourists how to surf, starting on long boards and moving to short.

2. Casa Labia Cultural Center

Casa Labia is the former residence of Muizenberg’s Count and Countess Natale Labia. Built in 1929 with influences from 18th-century Venice, the house is now used as a cultural center. Casa Labia includes a large art gallery featuring South African prints and other archives and collections. The house also boasts an upscale restaurant called Cucina Labia.
