Realising the lack of Mexican eateries in Johannesburg, four friends teamed up and opened the colourful Perron, Mexican Appreciation Society, in 2014, in Illovo. Due to its popularity (booking is essential) another branch was opened two years later in Bryanston. Book a spot and fill your table with tapas and different margaritas (try the jalapeño and coriander version) and of course, tequila.

With four branches in Johannesburg in Bedfordview, Parkhurst, Pineslopes and Kyalami, Salsa Mexican Grill serves all the classics. They use traditional cooking methods with a healthy spin. Salsa Mexican Grill is the ideal take-out spot, plus it’s even better when dining in. We love their small plates, especially the jalapeño poppers and the Baja shrimp basket.

La Rosa Mexican Grille and Tequileria
