Namibia is a country that prides itself on having some of the best spas and wellness retreats to leave you rejuvenated, while offering some of the best views in unique locations.

Whether it’s in metropolitan Windhoek, along the beautiful Atlantic coast or well hidden in the famous Namib desert, there are spas that cater for every need in Namibia. Whether you’re looking for luxurious high-end spas with the most exclusive treatments, of something for the client on a budget, you’re bound to find the spa to suit your needs.

GocheGanas boasts a selection of the best wellness treatments. There’s a total of 11 treatment rooms that are fully equipped with top-of-the-range equipment. The most popular feature of the wellness village is no doubt the indoor heated pool, with the cave sauna a close second. For a full experience, a fruit and juice bar and gym are also available, as well as a hydrotherapy bath. This wellness centre is ideal for people who are seeking a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, with its tranquil setting far from any town or city promising nothing but serenity. While GocheGanas allow general admission for children, no under 12s are allowed into the wellness centre.

2. Ai-Ais Hot Springs

After a hot, dusty day exploring the desert, nothing beats relaxing in the Ai-Ais therapeutic hot springs. Their name means burning water and their thermal properties, said to be excellent for rheumatism, are particularly sought after in the winter months. It’s a rather awesome feeling sitting in the springs while you allow nature to treat you to some healing and feast your eyes on the scenic wonderland around you. The resort also offers outdoor and indoor pools of varying temperature.

4. Nomad African Spa

Resort

Nomad African Spa offers not only a healing environment through its treatments, but offers marginalised workers an opportunity to learn and start a career in wellness through its Nomad Spa Academy. An internationally-recognised spa that won the award for Africa’s Best Day Spa at the World Spa Awards in 2015 and 2017, this is one of the few spas in Namibia that incorporates African spa techniques. But the most impressive feature of the spa is that it employs mostly visually impaired Namibians, creating employment for the otherwise marginalised group.

The spa is located on the ninth floor of the Hilton hotel and is right next to the Sky Bar and pool, offering one of the best views in Windhoek. The spa offers a variety of relaxing treatments, including body scrubs and wraps, grooming and a teen spa among other exciting treatments.

This is by far the best way to enjoy the Namib desert in one of the most exclusive lodges in Namibia. Dubbed the ‘desert castle’, the lodge is situated 21 kilometers from the Sesriem gate, and is ideally-located to visit the famous Sossusvlei.

7. Epacha Game Lodge and Spa

Lodge

Guests at the lodge can enjoy a state-of-the-art spa, including a sauna, steam room, open treatments and massages. On top of that, guests can enjoy the experience of seeing the 21 antelope species and rare animals such as black rhinos and sable antelope found in the area, as well as taking tours of the local Himba tribes.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
