Studying or working at home gets boring sometimes, so it’s good to break the routine, have some change and go somewhere different. It’s not easy to find a peaceful and affordable venue with coffee and good Wi-Fi, so here is a list of 10 quiet places in Cairo for you to study or co-work.

AlMaqqar

A splash of colour adds to the atmosphere

Believing in bringing different mindsets and ideas together in the same place, AlMaqqar has all the facilities that everybody needs. These include rooms for you to study, work, or to hold a meeting, in addition to a nice roof where you can also study or get your work done in the fresh air. It also offers training sessions, personal skills development workshops and other social events.

This is a nice and cosy place located in Garden City, Wust El Balad, that makes a great spot for a person to study or work. Room also holds many events from workshops to concerts, movie nights and talks.

Diwan Bookstore

With many branches around Egypt, Diwan is a well-known bookstore. The place has two sections, one for books and another section for to enjoy reading, studying or anything that requires serenity, coffee, snacks and relaxing music in the background.

Falak

Located in Garden City, Falak is also another good choice. It has a section for books, art pieces, original paintings and handmade crafts and another one for coffee and food. You can go there whether you want to study, work, or just to enjoy some coffee and a nice meal and along with good music.

Sufi Bookstore

Located in Zamalek, Sufi Bookstore is an idealistic place to study, read, work or even to have a good time with friends in a comfy atmosphere. It also contains handcrafted and artistic pieces. Sufi holds several events, concerts and workshops, movie nights and garage sales.

Al Kotob Khan

With two branches in Maadi, Al Kotob Khan is an independent publishing house and a bookstore. The balcony there is perfect: you’ll get to study, work or read, and enjoy the nice, quiet view. It was established in 2006 with the purpose of being a cultural centre. Whether you’re looking for translated books, English or Arabic ones, you’ll find them all there.

Woork Hub

Perfect for work or study

Located in Nasr City, Woork Hub is a place that brings a nice atmosphere for productivity together with good Wi-Fi, and coffee, a free entertainment room, free kitchen use and meeting rooms that open per request. You can choose between having a membership for the place or to pay per day.

Chameleon Co-working Space

Located on Fifth Settlement, Chameleon aims to bring different ideas together in order to support the creativity process. With a very professional atmosphere and a super nice outdoor space, this venue is perfect – whether you’re expecting to work, study, read or just spending quality time with friends.

Creativo Co-working Space

Located in Dokki, Creativo is a nice spot with a very friendly environment that aims to encourage creativity. The main purpose behind it is to provide an atmosphere that encourages freelancers, entrepreneurs, start-ups and small business owners to be more creative and innovative.
