You’re out to eat, you’ve finished your meal, and are craving something sweet. Here’s our guide to New York City‘s 10 best spots for not only desserts but boozy desserts too.

1. Prohibition Bakery

The East Village’s Prohibition Bakery is small, so don’t expect to hang out, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth the trip. Try classics like the ‘Bee’s Knees’ mulled wine, the Old Fashioned, and the White Russian. If you’re not really feeling the alcohol, you can always go the virgin route with the ‘L’Italiano’ or ‘For the Love of Bacon.’

2. Ayza

Bar, European

Anything with chocolate can and should be considered dessert, which is why the chocolate martinis at Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar are highly recommended for a post-dinner treat. Choose from a list of seven classic martinis, including a raspberry chocolate martini with Chambord, Kahlua, and 80% dark chocolate truffle; every martini comes with a truffle by Jacques Torres. If you’re hungry, try the ‘Cognac Ooh La La’ — a cognac reduction in caramel, covered in chocolate.

3. Brooklyn Bowl

Restaurant, American

Grab some friends and head over to Brooklyn Bowl. This bowling alley, concert hall, and restaurant has everything you need for a fun night out. Apart from some really great food, you can also indulge in the ‘Bourbon St. Shake’; this vanilla milkshake is made with Nutella and a shot of bourbon.

5. Burger & Barrel

Pub, Fast Food, American

Burger & Barrelis known for its award-winning Bash Burger and its wine list. Located in SoHo, this urban pub has a great food and drink menu, and the dessert menu is even better. Opt for a spiked milkshake or try the Mississippi mud pie: a brownie with chocolate Crémeux and Grand Marnier Chantilly.

6. The Bedford

Gastropub, Restaurant, Pub Grub, American

This easy-to-miss corner dining spot on Bedford Avenue is a must-try. In the warmer months, you can sit outside and enjoy the weather, but The Bedford‘s real attraction is its food. The brunch menu is arguably the best option. The portions are reasonably sized, so there will be more than enough room for you to try the Mint Julep crème brûlée.

Tipsy Scoop

The creators of Tipsy Scoop have taken the concept of ice cream to a whole new level: they add some of your favorite wines and spirits into your favorite classic ice creams. Alternatively, if you’re just looking for a relaxing night in, be sure to stop at Whole Foods or Urban Market to give this a try.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
