The Canteen

Dining at The Canteen is a communal affair with a great long table inviting you to meet old and new faces. Try the popular Crispy cod tacos, Chef Pucci’s famous buffalo wings and the New England clam chowder. There’s an oyster bar serving oysters shucked just down the road. Beers and Wines sourced in Cape Cod complete this celebration of local food and spirit.

Boasting outstanding ocean views and beautifully prepared lobster, this seafood destination attracts a large crowd. Whilst the feature attraction is faithful to its name, The Lobster Pot are purveyors of all Cape Cod seafood. The delicately balanced Shellfish Algarve includes Shrimp, mussels, littlenecks, scallops, fish and calamari over a bed of noodles – a perfect choice for those wanting to try a bit of everything. For those less keen to don bibs and use lobster crackers the menu offers other dishes such as lobster ravioli, lobster pot pie and lobster scampi.

Like many of the restaurants on Commercial Street, Ross’ Grill enjoys terrific views of the harbor. Soak up the view and enjoy one of the 75 wines they serve by the glass. On the menu you’ll find excellently crafted European bistro dishes – the duck breast à l’orange and filet mignon are particularly good.

Tin Pan Alley is a celebration of local ingredients and talent. The chef works with local fisherman and farmers to deliver exceptional plates of food. Try dishes such as pan roasted east coast Halibut with asparagus spears and Yukon potatoes. Scallops retrieved by Provincetown’s day boats are pan seared and placed on top of a bed of lemongrass risotto.

Fanizzi’s by the sea can at times feel like you’re actually in the big blue sea: hearing and seeing the crashing waves adds to the meal’s excitement. Serving up traditional Italian and American fare Fanzizzi’s has an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet on Sundays. Mimosas and their famous Bloody Mary with New Amsterdam Citron are on hand to wash down the French toast, corned beef hash and eggs Benedict.

Front Street Restaurant’s serves imaginative flavors which have locals and critics heralding its excellence. Chef Alpierti learned her trade in Italy and the restaurant offers two menus – an Italian and a Continental. The latter’s highlight is the rare grilled sushi grade tuna, whilst the European former could be any one of the house specialities. The Eggplant Maria is an oven baked triumph, layering veal and aubergine with rich plum tomato and mozzarella. Finish your meal with the delicious coffee toffee pie.

Jimmy’s Hideaway is a friendly and fun restaurant which serves great food. Jimmy’s salmon wellington consists of freshly caught and tarragon infused fish wrapped in crisp puff pastry, finished with dill beurre blanc and grilled asparagus. Saki Sushi Bar serves artfully presented plates of food. For vegetarians, Saki Sushi’s eclectic Asian menu will provide much needed relief from the abundance of seafood-only restaurants on Commercial street. Vegetable makimono rolls are as affordable as they are delicious. Dynamite makimono steps up the sushi game with tempura spicy tuna rolled with cream cheese, topped off with an eel sauce rich in umami.
