Fuss-free buffet brunch Situated in the Resort Mundo Imperial, Carnivore plays host to an excellent brunch buffet open to the general public with al fresco seating options. The food on offer covers a whole host of classic Mexican dishes, including tamales and tacos, but there are several more options if you’ve tired of Mexican cuisine. Try out the granola and fresh fruit options, or even hit up the freshly made omelette bar. This is the perfect value for money brunch option that all the family can enjoy. Convenient, filling, and delicious. 2. A Roma Bistro

Bar, Bistro, Restaurant, Italian

Traditional bucks fizz brunch A Roma Bistro is a magnificent Italian restaurant located in Interior Mundo Imperial which also runs an equally delightful Sunday brunch. The brunch takes the form of a buffet, and each dish is equally as good as the last. And the beautifully presented dessert bar is to die for. Take your pick from mini tiramisus and biscuits, among other offerings, which all come in handy taster size portions meaning you can try more than one without feeling (too) guilty. Make the most of the bucks fizz that comes included too. 3. Natural

Restaurant, Healthy, Mexican

100% delicious and vegetarian-friendly If you’re searching for something a little different from your brunch, head to 100% Natural, a regular feature on top Acapulco restaurant lists. 100% Natural has two locations in Acapulco and both are excellent spots for a vegetarian brunch, but the Magallanes location with its gorgeous outdoor pontoon seating that extends over the bay is our pick. Besides being fresh and tasty, the dishes here are always exquisitely presented and the smoothies are to die for. Try out the hotcakes or the one of the egg options. There are also non-vegetarian options for those who don’t fancy a meat-free brunch. Price: Mid-range Opening hours: 7am-11pm Watch out for: The huge variety of fruit and vegetable smoothies Address & telephone number: Avenida Costera Miguel Alemán 200, Acapulco de Juárez, Mexico

5. Vintage

Bar, Restaurant

Vintage

Late brunch style offerings More bar than restaurant, Vintage is one to watch out for if you fancy a late (possibly hungover) brunch, given that it serves classic Mexican dishes such as pozole and ceviches piled high with prawns, ceviche, and avocado. Top it off with a healthy dose of Salsa Huichol, for that kick of spice to get you back to full health. Accompany it with a renowned hangover killing michelada (beer, tomato juice, and a range of spices and salsas). You’ll be feeling right as rain in no time, after an afternoon brunch at Vintage. 6. El Pescador

Restaurant, American

Sunday champagne brunch This Sunday champagne brunch is great for when you feel like you just need some brunch-time pampering. Located in the Grand Hotel Acapulco, El Pescador is an excellent restaurant, but we overwhelmingly recommend the brunch menu they offer, which includes some refreshing ceviches and fish options. Or, if you’re feeling in the mood for something Spanish, why not give their paella a go? The added bonus of brunching here is the outstanding view over Acapulco bay that accompanies the food and drink so delightfully. Price: Mid-range to fine dining Opening hours: Sun 1pm-6pm Watch out for: Champagne, of course Address & telephone number: Grand Hotel Acapulco, Costera Miguel Alemán 1, Acapulco, Mexico,

7. Posadita

Restaurant, Mexican

Brunch and pool access Another hotel that offers a Sunday brunch is the Fairmont Acapulco Princess, in its Posadita restaurant. They usually have an already excellent and varied breakfast buffet for a very reasonable price, but their Sunday brunch goes above and beyond. Also presented in a buffet format, the range of options is impressive. Choose from eggs, meat, and fish, presented and served in several forms. The plus of brunching here, aside from its terrific ocean views, is that you are then granted access to the hotel pool. Perfect for a Sunday pool day with all the family. Price: Mid-range Opening hours: Sundays Watch out for: Pool access Address & telephone number: Fairmont Acapulco Princess, Costera de las Palmas, Acapulco, Mexico,

8. Frutiland Fruitiland

Restaurant

Frutiland Fruitiland

Low-key, basic brunching A rather interestingly named restaurant, Frutiland Fruitiland, is a budget spot at which you can enjoy a do-it-yourself brunch by choosing from the range of traditional Mexican dishes. Choose from the simple menu which includes molletes, huevos al gusto, or lightly fried fish fillet served with beans and rice, among other options. The milkshakes and smoothies are excellent too, and we recommend accompanying your meal with one of them. Not your traditional brunch option, but an economical and tasty option if you’re on a budget. Price: Budget Opening hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, Sat-Sun 8am-6pm Watch out for: Simple, low-key Mexican dishes Address & telephone number: Costera Miguel Alemán 116-3, Plaza Condesa, Acapulco, Mexico, +52 744 484 5938

9. Paititi del Mar

Restaurant, Mexican, Seafood, Vegetarian

Mix up the routine with a seafood brunch This beautiful seafood restaurant, Paititi del Mar, is an excellent brunch option if you enjoy attentive and welcoming service, as well as exquisitely and inventively prepared and presented dishes. Why not mix it up a little, break away from the repetitive brunches, and try out pineapple and coconut ceviches or a marlin sandwich? We recommend trying out the Paiti Torta if you’re feeling really hungry; stuffed with sausages, meats, egg, salsa, and veggies, it’s an excellent hangover cure or day-starter. Wash it down with the Sana Zana (carrot, celery, ginger, and apple) smoothie. Price: Mid-range Opening hours: 8am-6pm Watch out for: Inventive and beautifully presented dishes Address & telephone number: Ignacio Zaragoza 6 La Poza, Acapulco, Mexico

It is both a restaurant and a cold press juice bar and prides itself on serving the freshest vegetarian food in the area, all at an extremely reasonable price. This would make the perfect brunch stop for those seeking something a little different, and a little less boozy. A combination of Mexican, fusion, and raw dishes, there is something for everyone at this cute spot with its reclaimed wood furniture a mint green interior.
