Klimataria is a charming little family-owned restaurant in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Benitses. With only 11 tables, the restaurant has an atmosphere of serenity infused with the intoxicating scents of Greek dishes being lovingly crafted. Fresh and seasonal produce is central to the restaurant’s menu, which therefore varies depending on the foods present at the local market; but specialities include kolokythokeftedes (zucchini balls) and fish bourdetto. It is even possible to call in advance to request a specific meal so long as you leave enough time for the proprietors to source the ingredients.

Since opening the restaurant in 2010, Mike has striven to be as sustainable as possible; all used oil is recycled as fuel and the water served is filtered and purified using up-to-date technology, reducing plastic bottle usage and waste. The diversity of the international influences is evident in menu items like the Indian chicken marsala served on chipatti bread, in contrast with the tuna on a bed of ginger dish, served with stir-fried vegetables coupled with wasabi and soya.
