1. DF Mexico

Restaurant, Diner, Mexican

This modern Mexican diner serves the juiciest grilled steaks in East London, with fiery salsa to bring out the true BBQ essence. DF Mexico’s chicken option is equally delicious with a tangy marinade and pumpkin seed mayo, and there’s a little space outside to enjoy it with a cold beer.

2. Pitt Cue Co

Restaurant, British

Pitt Cue has it all; a rustic interior, good ribs, a brunch menu, cocktails, and craft beer. Their pulled pork burgers are beyond succulent, and the simplistic menu and small space create a fast and lively vibe.

Calling all veggies, ToastED in Dulwich is serving barbequed leeks with potato pancakes and black pepper cream. This is just one example of their broad menu, and the small restaurant adds an alternative angle to the traditional BBQ. The stylish restaurant also has its own wine shop, so it’d be rude not to indulge in their extensive selection.

4. Caravan King’s Cross

Restaurant, British, Vegetarian

If you’re bored of sausages and burgers then why not go for some grilled octopus at Caravan in King’s Cross? The huge, open plan restaurant offers a wide range of grilled options, and the explosion of colour in the grilled chorizo and octopus makes it a stand out dish.

5. Bodean’s BBQ Smoke House

Meat, meat, and more meat. Bodean’s have several small places dotted around the city, and their Kansas City inspired BBQ menu is rich and full of flavour. Their glorious BBQ sauce is smothered over most dishes and you mustn’t leave without trying their famous ‘burnt ends’.

6. M

Restaurant, Butcher, Diner, Contemporary

M Restaurants in Bank offer cocktail and wine bars, but their specialised steakhouse grill offers BBQ options from around the world. The stunning interior and chilled blues music create a cool vibe, which adds to the experience of their succulent grilled steaks.

7. Q Grill

Restaurant, British

Q Grill in Camden Town blazes local meat through its own in-house smoker and a surprisingly wide menu. What sets Q Grill apart from any other ‘grill’ in London is their delightful staff. They produce lightning fast service and even infectious smiles. The space they have in the restaurant allows for bigger groups and even bigger laughs.

8. The Blues Kitchen

Restaurant, American

For the ultimate Texan BBQ supplying Bourbon whiskey, 16 hour slow cooked meat, and great vibes, The Blues Kitchen in Shoreditch is the place to go. The vintage decor creates a very warming environment, and other alternatives from the grill, such as alligator and beef brisket, allow you to engage in the culture of the Deep South.

9. Duke’s Brew & Que

Gastropub, Pub, Pub Grub, American, BBQ

If your sole desire in life is a beer and meat, then Duke’s will become your second home. Their traditional American-style BBQ produces perfectly slow cooked meats that truly fall off the bone. The joint is housed in an 18th century pub in Hackney, and with their own brewery on site, a strong dark beer is designed to help water down their heavenly meats.
