On a pedestrian street in the middle of Lund is an old townhouse, built in 1866: Hotell Oskar. This story-like hotel has a charming exterior and modernly styled interior from famous Nordic designers. Historic Grand Hotel in Lund is one of the oldest hotels in the city. Designed by architect Alfred Hellerström, who also designed the University Library in Lund, Grand Hotel opened its doors in 1899. The lobby, grand marble staircase and ballroom were designed in Art Nouveau style, while the exterior resembles that of an old Renaissance castle. Lilla Hotellet (“little hotel”) consists of five 19th century converted townhouses, now 26 renovated rooms and a fully equipped conference room. The charming, brightly colored houses are located in the city center, close to the Lund Art Gallery.
